Wow.. am I happy I bumped into this by accident! I'm definitely going to try it out. Could you give me an indication of how difficult it would be at the moment to use the activerecord style database access without the rest of the framework ?
The mapper and proto packages can be used outside of a web framework, so there's no problems using them without anything else (or if there are, file a bug and I'll fix it.)
RIFE (http://rifers.org/) and Tapestry 5 (http://tapestry.apache.org/tapestry5/) are very interesting projects as well. They offer strong RAD Features and implement a Convetion over Configuration style.
Maybe you should take a look at them, in order to find useful features for lift. Both projects have screencasts. cheers, Andreas
Congrats on the release. It is definately a great idea.
Now, how do I convince anyone to present Scala and/or Lift at JavaZone, THE Java event in (northern) Europe? They just published a CfP here: http://www.javazone.no/web/show.do?page=152&articleid=5049 (no, I'm not affiliated with them, I'm just curious about Scala and Lift) - eirik maus
Erik,
I doubt I'll be able to make it to JavaZone this year, but I'll put a ping out to the Scala mailing list to see if someone wants to go and present. Thanks, Daivd |
